At United Way, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live in an affordable, safe, stable home.
We are helping people connect with short-term shelter as well as providing services for people to overcome the barriers that can get in the way of long-term stable housing.

A warming center at Upon This Rock at 882 Grand Avenue will be open from 6pm Friday, 1/23/2026 until Wednesday, 2/5/2026 at noon.

HOUSING RESOURCES
Immediate Needs:
Households experiencing a housing crisis should call 2-1-1. During the hours of Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, a trained housing call specialist is available to assist you.
Hubs that connect people in crisis with meals, showers, laundry, health and wellness care, housing navigation, transportation, employment, educational opportunities, and spiritual support and are located in key areas of the city.
Rental Assistance:
Connecticut Block Grant Recovery Program - Assistance with Security Deposit and Utilities
Find housing authorities in the state that currently have open waitlists to apply to.
