United Way recognizes that summer programs are an important opportunity for children and youth to learn new skills, develop strong relationships with caring adults and peers, and have healthy and fun experiences that promote their growth and development. The Summer Youth Fund provides support to nonprofit organizations who run summer programming for children and youth in Greater New Haven.
UNITED WAY OF GREATER NEW HAVEN'S SUMMER YOUTH FUND 2026 APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MONDAY, APRIL 13, 2026 AT 4PM EST.
United Way of Greater New Haven (UWGNH) is committed to broadening children’s access to programs that spark their learning and support their healthy development. We believe that when all children have access to high-quality educational opportunities, they have brighter futures and help make our community stronger.
The United Way recognizes that summer programs are an important opportunity for children and youth to learn new skills and develop strong relationships with caring adults and peers. As such, we are releasing this Summer Youth Fund grant opportunity to ensure that more children in Greater New Haven can attend high-quality summer
programs.
Priority will be given to programs that serve youth from low-income families and that offer academic enrichment, skill-building, and personal development. Priority will also be given to programs that provide mental health and emotional support for youth.
Grant awards, in the amount of $10,000, are available to provide general operating funds for summer programs in New Haven, West Haven, Hamden, East Haven, and Branford that serve children and youth in kindergarten through grade twelve from June to September.
