At United Way, we know that providing support to parents and other caregivers plays a critical role in children’s overall health and life success.
Since 2010, we have supported a network of community partners to offer parent support and education through our Secure Start Initiative.
Our community partners host 8-week sessions that are facilitated by staff or community members trained in the Circle of Security curriculum. This curriculum supports and strengthens secure parent-child attachments by helping parents and caregivers to better understand their child's emotional needs.
For questions about the Secure Start Initiative, please reach out to Abigail Mariam, Director of Education Initiatives, at amariam@uwgnh.org.
