New Haven Public School Food Distribution

During extended school vacations, like spring break, many food-insecure students in New Haven lose one of their primary sources of healthy meals. In order to alleviate the meals gap, United Way and other food provider partners* are hosting food distributions at multiple sites for New Haven students and their families!

Volunteer on Tuesday, April 11th, and help pack and prepare 1,200 grocery bags in the morning, then distribute food or survey clients at one of four pop-up pantry sites in the afternoon.

Bilingual Spanish-speaking volunteers are needed to help take demographic information from guests to ensure that we can meet the needs of our community to the best of our ability.

*This event is in partnership with CFAN, CT Foodshare, Loaves and Fishes, NICE, Cathedral of Higher Praise, Beulah Heights Church, West Hills Community Center/The Shack, and NHPS.

TO OUR NEIGHBORS!

We invite all of our New Haven Public School students, families and neighbors to the 4/11 pop-up food distribution. Please be our guests for complimentary groceries for meals during this spring break!

Tuesday, April 11 / 3:00 - 5:00 PM

LOCATIONS:
Truman School, 114 Truman Street
