Read Across America is Back!

February 11, 2021 - You’re invited to spread the joy of reading virtually! For Read Across America 2021, we are exploring the theme of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, while celebrating Black and Brown authors.

Record yourself reading one of three powerful e-books offered in partnership with the New Haven Public Library:

  •     “Sulwe” by Lupita Nyong’o
  •     “Where Are You From” by Yamile Saied Méndez
  •     “Last Stop on Market Street” by Matt de la Pena
  •     “El Día En Que Descubres Quién Eres” by Jaqueline Woodson (in Spanish)

While it may look a little different this year, your pre-recorded video is a meaningful way to support local teachers and inspire our youngest learners. Once you register, you’ll receive detailed instructions on how to access a book and record a video.

Submissions due by Thursday, February 25, 2021.

Thank you to our generous sponsors: Yale University, Comcast NBCUniversal, Yale New Haven Health, New Haven Bank, Industrial Flow Solutions, Greater New Haven Chamber, Tyco Print & Promo, Connecticut Children’s Museum, and New Haven Free Public Library!
