MOBILIZING TO FIGHT HUNGER – SMALL GRANT OPPORTUNITY

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to reduce the number of people struggling with hunger in our region by expanding the capacity of smaller community-based organizations to provide emergency food services. Smaller agencies are defined as those whose annual operating budget is below $350,000.

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to reduce the number of people struggling with hunger in our region by expanding the capacity of smaller community-based organizations to provide emergency food services. Examples of services that could be funded through this grant include, but are not limited to:

  • Purchase of food
  • Purchase of equipment to procure, prepare, store, or deliver food
  • Increased costs for your organization associated with procuring, preparing, storing and/or delivering food
  • Costs associated with training volunteers/staff to meet an increased demand for services

 

Awards will be between $1,000 to $3,000 per organization depending upon capacity, proposal, and explanation of need.

ORGANIZATION ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible to apply for funding your organization must meet ALL of the following criteria. If ALL boxes are not checked, your organization is not eligible to apply for this funding opportunity:

___ Yearly operating budget is below $350,000

___ Be registered with Infoline 2-1-1 OR be willing to register with 2-1-1 prior to start of grant period

___ Accurately track and report clients and meals served

___ Utilize volunteers in order to extend impact of work
