Local Early Childhood Councils
Local early childhood councils bring together a wide range of partners to ensure all families in greater New Haven have access to quality early childhood programming and information. United Way is proud to partner with the early childhood councils in our region.
United Way recognizes the value of collaborative efforts to create community change. We serve as a partner with local early childhood councils to help develop local strategies and, in some cases, manage their grant funds as a fiduciary.
The early childhood councils in our region are:
Branford Early Childhood Collaborative (BECC)
The Branford Early Childhood Collaborative is committed to ensuring that all Branford children and families are afforded the opportunity to develop a sound foundation for learning in the critical early years.
Hamden’s Partnership for Young Children (HPYC)
The mission of the HPYC is to work with families and communities to plan, coordinate, and improve services for all children.
New Haven Early Childhood Council (NHECC)
The mission of the New Haven Early Childhood Council is to ensure that all New Haven children birth through eight have access to a quality, affordable early care education and that they are healthy, safe, thriving in nurturing families and prepared to be successful lifelong learners.
West Haven Early Childhood Council (WHECC)
The mission of the West Haven Early Childhood Council is to engage families, schools and the community in improving developmental and educational outcomes for young children ages birth through eight.
